Please read the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) below.
My child really struggles with English, will you cover topics like comprehension and creative writing?
Most certainly.
We go through all of the fundamental topics in great depth so that each child improves their understanding of writing, SPAG, vocabulary and comprehension. We also give our pupils several templates and examples so that they have access to the best resources.
Our goal is to help your child to get their best results in the shortest time possible whilst boosting their confidence and improving their chances of passing the 11+ exam.
Do you cover Non-Verbal Reasoning, English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning?
We teach English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning during our holiday courses. However, during our regular weekly classes, we focus purely on English and Verbal Reasoning/Vocabulary.
My child is extremely shy, can they join your programme?
We understand that some children are naturally more introverted. We do our best to help all students feel integrated and to feel supported by others as well as our team. We also do not tolerate any bullying, discrimination or unfair treatment of any kind.
I am a very hands-on parent, can I micromanage the course my child is enrolled in and dictate what you teach?
We understand that some parents are very hands-on and want to be as involved in their child's learning as possible. However, as experienced tutors, we have the skills, resources and tools available to provide pupils with excellent support. If you are a parent that wants to direct every aspect of what is taught during any of our courses then we recommend either hiring a 1:1 tutor or teaching your child yourself. As professional tutors, we aim to support all students equally. We endeavour to give personalised support where possible but we cannot give more support to one particular student over another.
My child has a disability and/or additional needs (SEND), can they take part in your courses?
We have always taught children with additional learning needs and are experienced with supporting them. If your child needs any additional tools to help them focus, we recommend that you inform us before the course begins whilst also making those tools accessible to them during the course. If we feel your child will need a significant amount of additional support, we may contact you to discuss ways in which their learning can be adapted.
Are your tutors CRB/DBS checked and qualified?
We vet all of our tutors and thoroughly check that they are DBS cleared. Furthermore, we specifically handpick tutors that are experienced, educated to at least degree level and have stellar reputations and glowing references.
My son/daughter gets bored easily, will they enjoy learning with you?
We certainly believe so. We believe that studying should be fun and we therefore incorporate engaging and interactive activities into our lessons. Our courses are effective, challenging and enjoyable.
Do you work with students who live abroad but want to apply for a place at a British independent day/boarding school?
Certainly. Many of our students come from countries such as the USA, Dubai, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan. We have a vast level of experience in supporting these students and helping them to become more acquainted with the British curriculum and 11+/ ISEB exam content. We always strive to ensure that all of our students, regardless of their nationality, enjoy their experience of studying with us.
I’ve taught my child myself. Will your courses benefit them?
It’s great to teach your child in preparation for the 11+ exams but for them to really succeed, it’s vital that they receive support from experienced education professionals.
As tutors with an extremely high success rate, we know what is required for students to pass the exams, we understand the types of mistakes that are made which prevent students from excelling and we know how to work with each student to ensure that they do their very best. The level of experience, knowledge and insight that we have is profound and it can have a great impact on your child’s success.
